A Newsy Letter about a mixed berry snacking cake, some contest-winning peanut butter cookies and more . . .
Hello all! Hope this newsy letter finds you well and that your summer is coming along swimmingly. Can’t quite believe that Labor Day is right around the corner, but as much as I will miss summer, fall puts a little spring in my step, too. Snackable Bakes continues to preoccupy my time in all the best ways and on the off chance you’ve been waiting to purchase it until the weather cooled, well might I suggest you do so now, so you have plenty of time to peruse the book and pick your fave recipes (such as the Epic Snickerdoodles for Stephanie, the Strawberry Sheet Cake (for which you should def sub apples tossed in cinnamon and sugar for the berries), and the Coconut Hazelnut Granola with Sesame Seeds, to name a few) before the temps drop and baking season is in full swing (would hate for you to be caught out empty-handed).
I have just been so tickled to see my recipes popping up on Leite’s Culinaria and am particularly excited to share my mixed berry snaking cake recipe with you, which made it on to the site recently. It is just the perfect little late summer cake, topped with berries, or chopped stone fruit, if you’d prefer. The cake comes together quickly (natch) and is just excellent served with a drizzle of cold heavy cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
But if you are feeling more cookie than cake late-summer vibes (or maybe cookie PLUS cake), my Contest-Winning Peanut Butter Cookies from Snackable Bakes are all that and then some. I mean basically they are the best PB cookies ever AND they could not be easier. Moreover, the likes of Alexandra Cooks AND Sarah Kieffer have each made them AND posted the recipe to their blogs, so you know these cuties must be fab . . .
Finally, I was on a local NYC news station, PIX11 recently, whipping up my Strawberry Sheet Cake and it could not have been more fun. My Giant PB Cup was also in the house, as were my Secret Ingredient Rice Krispies Treats and I can’t wait to return to the show sometime soon and bake up some more snackable treats.
Okay, peeps – that’s it for this letter. See you in two weeks!
