A Newsy Letter About Podcasts, Devil’s Food Snacking Cake With Marshmallow Frosting, Cream Cheese Stuffed Carrot Cake Muffins, And More . . .
Hello peeps and happy November – which is my birthday month, BTW, so it happens to hold a very special place in my heart, I won’t lie. October was a relatively busy month for me – I was in Milwaukee and Chicago for the Midwest leg of my Snackable Bakes book tour, as I shared with you in the last newsletter, plus was busy with recipe development for the Washington Post and for Food52 AND spent time working on a proposal for my next baking book (please send good vibes into the universe that said proposal is approved by the powers-that-be and I get to begin writing another book some time soon . . .). And finally, I also began work on a new project that I will be able to share by the time I write my next newsletter – yay! But how about a recipe?
I was recently interviewed on Splendid Table’s fabulous One Recipe Podcast, in which I shared the recipe for my devil’s food snacking cake, as well as talked all things snackable with the lovely host, Jesse Sparks. Please give it a listen here.
And if a devil’s food snacking cake with marshmallow frosting sounds good to you, and you happened to have missed the newsletter in which I previously shared the recipe, here it is again (you’re welcome).
I know I shared some Chicago and Milwaukee highlights in the last newsletter but I did want to mention that I also had the pleasure of visiting the Taste of Home offices and test kitchens in Milwaukee. I had a grand old time there, making recipe videos and meeting all the lovely peeps who work there, and they will be sharing lots of great content that we created while I was there, some time soon! Oh, and they did make me carry around a large fake turkey as we created a bit of Thanksgiving content, so there was that, too.
And speaking of turkey day, if you’re wondering about a yummy thanksgiving morning muffin to feed the house guests – or you just dig carrots and cream cheese, might I suggest you give my cream cheese stuffed carrot cake muffins a spin? Easy peasy and delish, if I do say so myself. The recipe can be found here.
Hope you give these cuties a try – they do not disappoint. That’s it till next time.
