A newsy letter all about chocolate-y deliciousness . . .
Hello peeps. It’s another newsy-letter and here’s to hoping that you’re as excited to be receiving it, as I am to be sending it (I mean a girl can dream, right?). Things are getting a little intense over here in less-than-two-months-away-from-cookbook-launch land, and by “intense,” I mean that I exist in a perpetual state of scaredy-psyched. In other words, I am simultaneously terrified about the May 3rd birth of my book baby, Snackable Bakes: 100 Easy-Peasy Recipes for Exceptionally Scrumptious Sweets and Treats, and beyond (like crazy beyond) excited (particularly when (starred) things like this happen).
I’m in that stage (pre-launch), when I am starting to plan book events (!!), like parties and talks and classes and such. And when doing so, if you’re me, you imagine all the cool venues you are going to end up at, and how filled to the brim said venues will be with enthusiastic peeps who are just dying to purchase your book. But then, if you’re still me (which you are), like one second later, you panic and envision large empty spaces filled with you, a pile of books, and maybe your mom and dad sitting on folding chairs staring at you expectantly . . . And that is basically “scaredy-psyched” in a nutshell, you feel me? Anyway, that’s where I’m at and I just felt like sharing, and this is TMI, I get it, so how about we switch gears and talk about chocolate pudding?
My latest for the Spruce Eats is this fab, easy-peasy stove-top chocolate pudding. Pudding is basically my favorite food and when dolloped with lightly sweetened whipped cream, I am in chocolate dessert heaven. Oh, and what’s that? You’d like to find out about some other chocolate desserts that put me in dessert heaven? Well, I thought you’d never ask: there is this easy-peasy chocolate mousse cake, that I developed for Food52 a few months back.
As well as this (easy-peasy) fudgy vegan chocolate olive oil cake (with a chocolate olive oil glaze, to boot). I actually developed it for Colavita Olive Oil, about a year ago, but recently we filmed a video of me making it, and so it is (thankfully) top of mind. And yes, you may be picking up on the fact that I describe every one of these recipes as easy-peasy, and perhaps that is getting a bit tiresome, but I just don’t want you to forget, kk?
Finally, just a friendly reminder that I would be over the moon if you’d consider pre-ordering Snackable Bakes, as pre-orders are essential to authors and their books. Thus, if you imagine you might order a copy come May 3rd (when you’ll find it wherever books are sold), PLEASE consider ordering now . . . thanks, thanks thanks, peeps. XO
