A Newsy-letter all about TV, Radio, and a Couple of Autumnal Loaf Cakes . . .
Hello peeps! Excited to share another newsy letter with you all, cause wowza: has there ever been some news. First and foremost, I was on the CBS Saturday Morning News, featured in their segment entitled “The Dish” on September 17th and it was all that and then some. You can watch it here and the show is quite literally a deep-dive into, well, me – kind of cool, right? Anyway, I loved the experience of filming the segment at my home in CT and then watching it live (I happened to be with my parents when it aired and it was a treat to watch it from my childhood TV room with them and my best friend, to boot!), and I LOVED what came after . . .
In short, after the segment aired, Snackable Bakes, shot to #1 in baking and desserts books on Amazon AND was #12 for a while on Saturday out of ALL the books sold on Amazon – like every single one – not just cookbooks . . . and then, of course, it sold out. And that was both good AND bad: good cause, like wow, selling out makes you feel like some kind of best-selling author and all that (I mean, a girl can dream, right?) but also bad cause it meant (and still means) that anyone who goes to Amazon to buy the book in the immediate future, cannot do so. You CAN order it and they will deliver it when it is back in stock, but most peeps want instant gratification – I get that. The good news is that it is still available from Barnes & Nobles and if you want a signed copy, it is available from this indie book store . . . as well as many others. Oh, and if by any chance you missed the memo and did not even realize I’d written a book called Snackable Bakes, and are just dying to know what the cover looks like, well here you go:
And that’s that, folks. In other news, I recorded a fab podcast with the gals from Didn’t I Just Feed You? We talked back to school baking and all things Snackable Bakes and it was a damn good time. Give it a listen.
“And what about recipes??” – you very well might be asking . . . Well, I’ve got a couple of autumnal loaf cakes for you here, that I’m just dying to share.
First up, we have Best Ever One Bowl Apple Bread. This loaf cake has apple sauce in the batter, which makes it moist (and, also, makes it “the best ever”), as well as chopped apples. And it could not be easier to assemble (natch).
And second “up,” we have Pumpkin Banana Bread with Toasty Pecans. If you have never had pumpkin banana bread before (with toasty pecans to boot), you are in for a crazy special treat. I, for one, was new to the world of such a bread and boy, am I ever glad I’ve been introduced.
And that’s it, friends. This is all the news that was fit to print this week (though, that is not really true, but I just like writing it). See you in two (weeks)!
