Matzos Bark, Banana Cake, And More . . .
Hello peeps. It is Snackable Bakes countdown time over here, as the book drops (as those in the know like to say) on May 3rd – but really all I can say is “eeeekkkk!!” I mean I am over the moon excited, but also wowza: a lot of work goes into promoting a book before it even hits shelves and I am in the middle of all that work RIGHT NOW. In addition to going LIVE on Instagram twice a week, making different recipes from the book with some of my favorite food folks, I am also planning book events and parties (I mean who doesn’t like a party?!), and keeping up with my freelance work (ie: writing and developing recipes that are (shockingly) not even Snackable Bakes related).
For instance, my latest for the Kitchn is this fabulous matzos toffee bark that is easy to make and wildly delicious (and addictive, so consider yourself warned). I know that many that celebrate Passover have already attended their seders, BUT if you do celebrate, I am certain you have matzos leftover with which you could make this bark – and matzos bark is not just for seders anymore, in case you did not get the memo. And if you do not celebrate, but love tasty treats and are up for grabbing a box of matzos at the store, (and I guarantee that you’ll still be able to find some) I’d suggest you give this bark a whirl, too.
And if you’re like: “well, that’s all well and good that you made some bark, but when can I get a sneak peak of a recipe from your new book?” – you’re in friggin’ luck! King Arthur Baking published a recipe of mine FROM SNACKABLE BAKES!!! Amazing, I know. It is the recipe for banana snacking cake with chocolate malted cream cheese frosting and I’m thinking you are going to really dig it (just sayin’). And maybe it you make it, and realize it’s over the top yum, it will encourage you to preorder a copy of my book – and if I’ve said it once, I‘ve said it 100 times (sorry), preordering is crazy important to authors and really helps with book sales . . .
Finally, I did want to share that SNACKABLE BAKES got some great early press this week, as it was not only included in the Spruce Eats’ list of their favorite 15 spring cookbooks, but it was also featured in the most recent issue of Martha Stewart Living!!! Yes, indeed: Snackable Bakes was one of the 4 books included in Martha’s column “On Our Bookshelf,” and I am obviously beyond, I mean BEYOND, thrilled.
Finally, as I mentioned above, I am planning several events, in NYC, DC, Brookline, Mass, and (virtually) in both LA (at Now Serving) and Seattle (at Book Larder), so please check out my events page on my website for all the deets. Thanks so much and hope to see you at an event (or two).
