Hello my lovely paid subscribers and happy March. As I write the word “March,” I realize if I was truly on the ball, I would have shared a recipe here from my new savory easy-peasy baking book, entitled Salty, Cheesy, Herby, Crispy Snackable Bakes (in case you forgot), that was either Pi Day friendly (i.e.: a recipe for a savory pie or galette) or something St. Paddy’s Day-related (soda bread, anyone?). But upon a ball I am not, so I’m sharing a recipe for some fantastic scones from the book - a recipe that is actually a variation for a scone that has chorizo in it (which was, incidentally, one of the photo team’s fave from the shoot) . . . but I digress. The recipe calls for salty, crunchy, chopped marcona almonds, plus sweet and chewy date chunks and creamy, uber-flavorful manchego cheese. Paprika features heavily in these cuties giving them a gorgeous orange hue and wonderful smoky flavor.
